Dara Barlin
Dara Barlin is a shameless instigator of positive change. She is the author of A New Kind of Power, a bestselling book about transforming the culture of government to foster more empathy and effectiveness. In addition to being a writer, she is a grassroots organizer, filmmaker, trainer, policy advocate, and musician. She uses each of her talents to make the world a better place - by any means necessary. Her work has been featured in the United Nations, U.S. Congress, Harvard Education Press, London Times, NBC, and NPR. In 2012, she led a global arts campaign which brought artists and musicians together from 97 countries to build a collective path towards a culture of peace. More recently, Dara began exploring filmmaking and producing short films that seek to entertain and educate, including “Proof of Concept: How to Depolarize Communities”. The film has received praise for showing how to develop empathy across communities in conflict. Her campaigns for change have been touted as "the best ever seen" by state legislators, White House leaders and UN Officials.
